Lead vs. Account
A lead is a potential customer who has shown some interest but has not yet been qualified — early stage, may not have a clear need yet, needs nurturing, follow-up, may or may not convert.
Think of it as:
“Someone who might buy from us.”

An account is a qualified business or individual that is already a customer, or has a clearly defined relationship with you — long-term or ongoing potential, has booked before or is actively considering it, usually associated with multiple sales opportunities, managed by a designated sales agent (key account handling).
Think of it as:
“Someone we have an established or ongoing relationship with.”
